Pretty in Pink Valentine’s Day Cards

Looking for some easy cards to make for Valentine’s Day? These pretty pink Valentine’s Day cards will take you less than an hour to make and your friends and family will love them.

I have designed three different Valentine’s Day cards for you to choose from. They are all based on the same theme so you can prepare and put them together at the same time. It is more cost effective to make them this way…I put together six cards from two 12×12 pieces of scrapbook paper.

Materials:

3 white pre-made greeting cards
1 piece of white 12×12 scrapbook paper
1 piece of pink 12×12 scrapbook paper
Small heart-shaped rubber stamp
Black ink pad
Pink colored pencil
Narrow white ribbon
Hole punch
Scissors
Paper cutter
Glue stick

Before you get started on the actual cards, you can create the hearts that will decorate each of the three cards.

Use the paper cutter to cut six 2×2″ pieces of white scrapbook paper. Using the heart rubber stamp and the black ink pad, stamp a heart in the center of each piece of white scrapbook paper.

After the ink dries for a few minutes, color in the hearts with the pink colored pencil. Now you are ready to start your first card.

Card #1:

The first card will open horizontally. Using the paper cutter, cut a rectangle from the pink piece of scrapbook paper. The rectangle should take up about three-fourths of the card.

Using the hole punch, punch two holes right next to each other near the top center of the pink piece of paper. Cut a piece of white ribbon approximately 6 inches long. Thread the ribbon through the holes in the pink paper.

Glue the pink paper in the center of the white greeting card. Carefully tie the white ribbon into a bow, cutting the ends of the ribbon to your desired length.

Next space out three white squares with the hearts on them in the center of the pink paper. Glue in place.

Card #2:

The second card will open vertically. It is very similar to the first card, in that you will cut a pink piece of scrapbook paper into the shape of a rectangle that takes up about three-fourths of the card. Attach the white ribbon at the top center of the pink paper, as for the first card.

Glue the piece of pink paper in the center of a white greeting card. On this card, you will center two hearts in the center of the pink paper, one above the other.

Card #3:

The third card will also open vertically. For this one I cut about an inch off the bottom of the white greeting card so it is closer to the shape of a square.

Cut a piece of pink scrapbook paper into the shape of a square that takes up about two-thirds of the card.

Attach the white ribbon at the top center of the pink paper as with the other cards.

Glue the piece of pink paper in the center of the greeting card. Glue one heart onto the center of the card.

These cards are very easy to make. If you don’t want to mess with rubber stamps, you could use heart-shaped stickers in their place. Your friends and family won’t believe how little time you spent making them!

If you want to personalize your Valentine’s Day cards this year, you can do it with a few easy craft items and a few spare minutes of your time. To get started with some easy do-it-yourself Valentine’s Day cards, here are the supplies you will need:

• Valentine scrapbooking paper
• Old Valentine’s day cards
• Heart-shaped rubber stamp with a red or black ink pad
• Heart-shaped hole punch
• Red or white cardstock paper
• Red or white foam paper
• Glue stick
• Scissors
• Family pictures
• Glitter
• Red and white ribbon

Now that you have all the supplies laid out before you, let’s get started with your Valentine’s Day card. Here is a simple step-by-step guide of what to do:

Step # 1 – Get the decorations ready

Before you start gluing things to the card, you need to get all of the decorations ready that you need to glue to the card. Use the heart-shaped hole punch to create some heart decorations out of the foam and cardstock paper. Once you have cut them out, dip them in some Elmer’s glue and sprinkle them with some glitter. Give them a few minutes to try on wax paper so they don’t stick to your kitchen table and other surfaces. Tie the ribbons into small bows. Use white and red ribbon and tie them together in double ribbons. You will want at least one double ribbon because you will need to glue it to the top of the card.

Step # 2 – Word the card

To get started with the decoration of your Valentine, you need to choose the wording for the card. Would you like to say the simple ‘Happy Valentine’s Day’ message or would you like to offer something extra like a poem or a love note? Use the Valentine’s scrapbooking paper to type your message on the computer and print it out. This will be used as the inside of your card. For the message on the outside, grab some of the old Valentine’s Day cards you have and cut out the heart shape on them along with the phrase ‘Happy Valentine’s Day’. This is a fun way to liven up a dull Valentine’s Day card. Once you have this ready, you are ready to start gluing things into their proper place on the card.

Step # 3 – The Layout

Use all of the decorations and add them to the card. Which items will go inside the card and which ones will look good on the outside of the card? Don’t forget to add your family photos to the card. Placing them on the center of the card so it is the first thing the recipient sees. Cut the picture into the shape of a heart and glue it right in the middle and then glue some foam hearts around it. Glue the lace bow to the top of the card. If you want to get creative with the lace, glue two strings of lace to the front and back of the card, then tie them together in a bow. On the inside of the card, include your poem or love note that has been printed out on the scrapbooking paper. Be sure to decorate the inside of the card with the cardstock hearts that are covered with glitter. You might also consider adding a few different cut-outs from your family pictures on this page.

Creating homemade Valentine’s Day cards is meaningful and fun. You get a chance to sort through all of your recent family pictures and share them with the people you love.

Now go ahead and select what pictures will go into your scrapbook. These can be from birthdays, trips, special occasions or if you have them pictures from a trip to Disneyland or Disney World. Boy or Girl Baby Scrapbooking

Baby scrapbooking is the new and improved way to document the first few days or weeks of your baby’s life. Whether you have a little boy or a little girl, the results can be as professional and unique as you want them to be. There are no set rules on what you are to include like first hair cut trimmings or first shoes like in the traditional baby books. With a baby scrapbook you can include or exclude absolutely anything you want. Take the memories that you cherish, no matter what they are and include them in a creative way the in years to come you will still want to flip through this amazing keepsake scrapbook.

If you have a boy to create a fun and exciting baby scrapbook for than there are many themes you may want to consider. If you are hoping your son will be a great athlete one day than there are many sporting themes that can be used for the album itself or all the way through the entire collection of memories. On the other hand if you do not want to stick to one theme you can choose any type of album you want that doe not necessarily have to be “baby” oriented. What matters with your page layout are the pictures and sentiments that you choose to include; the theme of the book is not important.

Just as with a little girl you may choose to create a princess or fairytale themed scrapbook album as you can be quite certain a little girl will absolutely love a theme like this. Choosing a girly theme is far easier than choosing an appropriate theme for a boy, but even still a theme is completely optional. When you visit the craft store you will see that many times the accessories and page accents you choose have more to do with the theme of your choice than the album or scrapbook paper you choose for your setting.

The great thing about creating a baby scrapbook is that no matter if you are working on a girl or a boy memory album, the accessories and tools are endless for each. In the world of scrapbooking the two most popular scrapbook categories are babies and weddings so you never have to worry about not being able to find what you want for your scrapbook. The great thing about scrapbooking is that you can find materials almost everywhere you go and each retailer has something new and different that can create a new and unique angle for any memory.

If you are a parent who has a boy and a girl you can create on big scrapbook that is perfect for both! With the first half being related to a baby girl and the last half for your baby boy you can cover both in one gorgeous looking keepsake scrapbook. No matter what your thoughts, ideas or preferences are in regards to how to create and store your baby’s memories, the best way is in a scrapbook where you have complete creative control.
