Journalise Your Scrapbook

Scrapbooking is great fun, especially the creative aspect of putting together all the photos and embellishments into a page layout and producing a full album. However, you don’t want to lose sight of your main scrapbooking goal, which is to produce a book full of memories that can be shared with family and friends for a lifetime. In order to be sure that you remember all the details of the time when the photos were taken, it is important to journalise the page layouts in each of your scrapbook albums.

Begin with a title for each page in your scrapbook to give it a general description, but don’t hold back. You can be t the point if you like, but don’t be afraid to add a little personality, humor, or heartfelt feelings to the title. Your creative input and personality is what makes your scrapbooks special. A great way to approach your scrapbook journaling is to think of your album as a story, especially when thinking of the title.

Next, using writing or embellishments, include a little caption for each of the photos. For example, you may want to name the people and the place the photo was taken, or be specific about other things in the background. Not only does this help you remember everything about the event in the future, but it is more enjoyable when you show people your scrapbook that doesn’t necessarily know your other friends and family, or the places you’ve been.

You can also journalise your scrapbook pages without photos. Let’s say you forgot your camera at an important event, or something spontaneous happened where photos weren’t taken but you wanted to capture the moment in a special way afterwards. You can still use scrapbooking pages and embellishments to create a special memory that reminds you of that time. Maybe you have other things you can include like ticket stubs, a dried flower, or other small objects that you had at the time.

For scrapbooking Moms, it might be something your baby had colored on, or maybe a special twig that your child had held on to at the beach.  Be creative and capture all your memories!
